What exactly does one do on a yoga retreat? Whatever one wants!! For those who would like a more structured answer, here’s a sample day:

Morning yoga class

8:30-9:30 Buffet breakfast

Read a book, bask in the gardens, or schedule an excursion to a historical and cultural landmark

Wander into Urubamba, shop, have lunch

Take a nap, pull some cards, luxuriate in an on-site spa treatment

Join the group for a slow, stretchy class before dinner; or dinner followed by a Reiki/restorative yoga combo

Enjoy ceremony, or gather around the fire in community, as humans have found for millennia to be a healing practice that helps the nervous system feel safe; maybe journal before bed

In other words, be as social or introverted as you wish from moment to moment. Be as busy and active as you’d like, or revel in the luxury of having time unspoken for.

Custom Retreats

I co-owned a Pilates and yoga retreat business for five years. In that role, I led trips to the Dominican Republic, Ireland, Mexico, France, and-- wait for it-- Fish Creek, Wisconsin! I have also been to and vetted in person retreat centers in Romania and Peru’s Sacred Valley.

If you have a group of friends or family who would like to customize your own trip, I will be happy to plan a tailor-made retreat just for you. This can include finding a venue, organizing meals and activities, and planning and teaching just the right amount of Pilates, yoga, and/or meditation for your crew.

Pricing will vary depending on the size of the group, destination, etc. Contact me to chat about what this could look like for you!

“I went on the Dominican Republic yoga retreat in February 2018. What a blissful experience! Becky made everything so easy, from arranging transportation from the airport to being there to greet us when we arrived at the Dominican Tree House Village and bringing all the little extras like a first aid kit and "emergency" chocolate. She put together a daily schedule of yoga, activities and meals, but it was flexible enough that everyone could have the day that worked best for them. I loved starting each day with yoga in the thatch roofed yoga dome next to the river, watching the hummingbirds dart from flower to flower. Activities like the incredible zipline with the amazing view of the valley, and a whale watching expedition out of Samana broadened our understanding of the region we were in, while a beach cleanup afternoon gave us a chance to give back to the local community that was being so hospitable. Every evening as the sun set we wound down with relaxing restorative yoga. This retreat was well balanced, offering some scheduled activities for structure but also providing plenty of down time to just sit back and take in the surrounding jungle from our tree house perches. I loved my week with Becky and hope to go on another of her fabulous retreats soon!”
